Our top vineyards
he vineyard Uhlen belongs to the steepest vineyards at the Moselle valley. Due to the direct southern exposure the grapevines experience an optimal solar radiation.
The relatively bare and rocky soil, the low rainfall in the summer, makes the vines producing a very few grapes only what leads to a highly concentrated wine which convinces a lot of Uhlen devotees. The special composition of the soil by different layers of slate lends the wine an interesting earthy body. Half of the winery's vineyards are located in the Uhlen.
The vineyard Röttgen is the second top vineyard of our winery. Here, the wine is distinguished by elegance, combined with filigree and fruity flavours. Rooted in a lightly slated soil, the vines—partly more than 40 years old—produce well-bodied late vintage wines and fruity fine-sweet wines as well.
